Today we went beach cleaning. We've been anticipating this pretty much half of the time in the weeks prior to
LEAF project day (a.k.a last day of Term 1). Anyways, after announcing that we're going to do beach cleaning some weeks ago, it took people about half a second to realize that "beach cleaning" sounds a lot like "bitch cleaning". So basically everyone was eeked out by it.
Anyways so we went off. Sat with Jessica in the bus and halfway during the trip Dinesh went off to the back seat after Damien puked. (Eeeeew). During the picnic about half of the girls, me, Amanda, Chloe, Jasmine Lee, Debra and Daphne shared my green picnic-ish mat. Amanda brought her cam, and Chloe, me and a few others (including Nicholas who brought his iPhone) brought our phones and to our joy,
Mrs Tan didn't seem to mind that we brought electronic devices without her permission. We were like, "OMG!"
At least, I was.
So anyways we all played our songs. Then when I went over to give out some free Pringles (I ended up giving a half-empty box to Glendon and Jordan, who were pretty happy about it), Nicholas went on YouTube and showed me a video entitled
Michael Jackson vs. Pokemon. Basically they captured a few shots of MJ doing his moves on that
Moonwalker game and a Pokemon playing and they just mixed it up. It was so cool.
After the picnic, we picked up litter. It wasn't so bad. My group consisted of Chinmai (our Group Manager), me (Safety Manager), Jasmine and Yock Sin (Sorters). We were a very efficient team, as we were able to find 15 cigarette butts and loads of other tosh. I'm not saying it was fun or anything.
Afterwards, everyone gathered our rubbish and deposited them on a mat. We all were supposed to make a sculpture, and everyone settled on a digestive system. (Our group managed to donate some of the rather rusty metal rods). On the way back on the bus, I took out my headphones and listened to my LSS song. Nobody seemed to mind. In school, I used my calculator on my phone to calculate our schools. Unfortunately I was not able to finish since the bell had rung.
Overall, I think that the whole thing was
cool. Now I have to sleep.
Don't mind the title, by the way. It's a song from
Cabaret. Kristin Chenoweth (who guest-starred as April Rhodes) and Lea Michele (as star Rachel Berry) had performed a duet on it on
GLEE, and I loved their version!
